On August 17th, 2017, Michael J Moritz Jr's current production of Broadway's Beautiful: The Carol King Musical played its 1,500th show at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre, making it the longest running show in the theatre's history.

Beautiful opened on Broadway January 12, 2014, and Abby Mueller currently stars as Carole King.
