On July 8th, 2019, Cleveland Musical Theatre presented a one-night-only concert presentation of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s Into the Woods at New York City’s The Town Hall. Michael J. Moritz Jr. served as music supervisor.

On June 24th and 25th, 2019, the Drama Desk nominated musical Wanda’s World (Music & Lyrics by Beth Falcone and a Book by Eric H. Weinberger) took to Sound on Sound Studios in Montclair, NJ to record a cast album starring Broadway vets Nancy Opel (Urinetown, Toxic Avenger), Jay Armstrong Johnson (Phantom of the Opera, On the Town), Arielle Jacobs (Aladdin), Alex Boniello (Dear Evan Hansen, Spring Awakening), Max Crumm (Disaster! The Musical, Grease), Troy Iwata, and more!

Michael J. Moritz Jr. serves as producer and mixer on the album. Broadway Records will distribute.

Hadestown, co-produced by Michael J. Moritz Jr., won eight TONY awards at the 73rd Annual Tony Awards including Best Musical, Best Original Score, Best Direction of a Musical, Best Featured Actor in a Musical, Best Scenic Design of a Musical, and Best Lighting Design of a Musical, Best Sound Design of a Musical, and Best Orchestrations.

Hadestown is currently running on Broadway at the Walter Kerr Theatre.

At the 2019 Outer Critics Circle Awards on May 13, 2019, the Broadway production of Hadestown, co-produced by Michael J. Moritz Jr., was presented with 6 awards including Outstanding New Broadway Musical, Outstanding New Score (Anaïs Mitchell), Outstanding Director of a Musical (Rachel Chavkin), Outstanding Featured Actor in a Musical (Andre De Shields), Outstanding Featured Actress in a Musical (Amber Gray), and Outstanding Lighting Design.

The winners will be honored at a May 23rd event at Sardi’s.

Hadestown is now running at the Walter Kerr Theatre.

The 2019 Tony Award nominations were announced on Tuesday, April 30th. Hadestown leads with 14 nominations, including Best Musical, Best Director of a Musical, Best Book of a Musical, Best Original Score, and Best Leading Actress in A Musical.

Erich Bergen will welcome in 2019 along with Michael J. Moritz Jr. and the Cleveland Pops Orchestra! The two hour New Year’s Eve concert features pop songs and classics from movies like Casino Royale, Jersey Boys, Love Story, The Breakfast Club, E.T., Titanic, and many more.

On Tuesday, November 13th, 2018 Hadestown opened in the Olivier Theatre at The National Theatre in London. Michael J. Moritz Jr. will co-produce the Hadestown transfer to Broadway in April 2019.

On November 12th, Norbert Leo Butz and friends hosted two sold-out concerts at Feinstein’s 54 Below to benefit The Angel Band Project, which provides music therapy to sexual assault survivors. The concert was music directed by Michael J. Moritz Jr., hosted by Mariska Hargitay, and featured the talents of Aaron Tveit, Jessie Mueller, Sherie Renee Scott, Lindsay Mendez, Rosanne Cash, Hannah Trombley, and Jennifer Hopper.

On September 30th, Erich Bergen (Madam Secretary, Waitress, Jersey Boys), performed in concert at Sony Hall under the musical direction of Michael J. Moritz Jr. The concert featured special guests Betsy Wolfe (Waitress, The Last Five Years) and Emmy nominee Mark Ballas (Kinky Boots).

Broadway Records will release a concert cast recording of “Tonya & Nancy: The Rock Opera” (book and lyrics by Elizabeth Searle and music by Mike Teoli) on Friday, September 28th. The record is produced and mixed by Michael J. Moritz Jr.

Broadway Records will release the concert cast recording of Session Girls both in stores and digitally on September 28th. The concert, recorded live at Feinstein’s/54 Below, features music direction by Michael J. Mortiz Jr. and a cast of Broadway performers including Tony nominee Lauren Worsham (A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder), Jill Abramovitz (Fiddler on the Roof), and Oyoyo Joi (The Book of Mormon).

Arielle Jacobs (Broadway’s Aladdin) will release her debut solo album A Leap In The Dark, produced and mixed by Michael J. Moritz Jr. and released by Broadway Records on June 15th.

Broadway Records and Olivier Award Winner Lesli Margherita (Matilda: The Musical, Dames At Sea, Homeland) will release a new album titled “Rule Your Kingdom: Live At Feinstein’s 54 Below” on May 11th.

On April 16th, 2018, some of Broadway and Television’s biggest stars joined the students of Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School at the BB&T Center for a one-night-only concert benefitting MSD Victims’ Fund and Shine MSD. Michael J. Moritz Jr. music directed and conducted the performance.

Session Girls, a new musical by three-time Emmy nominee, Mia Moravis, will debut Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at 9:30PM at Feinstein's/54 Below. Michael J. On February 13th, Tonya & Nancy: The Rock Opera had its 54 Below concert debut. The musical, with book and lyrics by Elizabeth Searle and music by Michael Teoli, featured Ashley Spencer, Lauren Worsham (A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder), and Nancy Opel (Urinetown, Toxic Avenger). Michael J. Moritz Jr. provided music supervision.

Michael J Moritz Jr's current production of Beautiful: The Carole King Musical is receiving rave reviews for it's opening run in Australia at the Sydney Lyric Theatre.

"Broadway Against Bullying", a night featuring some of Broadway's biggest names coming together to raise awareness to stop bullying and cyberbullying, returns to NYC in February 2018. Michael J Moritz Jr and No Bully will team up once again to put on this benefit concert at Feinstein's/54 Below on Monday, February 5th at 7:00pm.

On December 2nd, 2017 in Orlando, Florida, Michael J Moritz Jr, along with his team members Billy LaGuardia and Brandon Loewit, won an Emmy Award for Audio for their work on the 2016 release of "From Broadway With Love: A Benefit Concert for Orlando".

Michael J. Moritz Jr. has been nominated for a 2017 Emmy Award for Audio for his work as Producer on the DVD release of "From Broadway with Love: A Benefit Concert for Orlando."

On Monday, October 16th, 2017, Michael J Moritz Jr will team up with some of Broadway's best and to perform Broadway Against Bullying at the Hotel Nikko in San Francisco, California. The one-night-only show is being put on by No Bully, a nonprofit foundation whose primary goal is to promote empathy and put an end to bullying and cyberbullying.

On September 17th, 2017, Broadway's smash hit Beautiful: The Carole King Musical opened in Sydney, Australia. Michael J Moritz Jr serves as producer for the musical which has now staged productions on three different continents.

Two-Time Tony Award winning actress Patti LuPone will release a 2-disc album called "Don't Monkey with Broadway". The album is produced and mixed by Michael J Moritz Jr.

Two-Time Tony Award Winning Actor Norbert Leo Butz has returned to Feinstein's/54 Below in NYC with his show "Memory and Mayhem." Michael J Moritz Jr returns to lead a stellar band through Butz's rocking, southern roots inspired set which includes some of Butz's favorite performances from Broadway and some of his new originals.

On August 17th, 2017, Michael J Moritz Jr's current production of Broadway's Beautiful: The Carol King Musical will play its 1,500th show at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre.

On August 27th, Michael J Moritz Jr will be teaching masterclasses in Reykjavic, Iceland at Söngskólo Sigurõar Demetz. This Icelandic Vocal School was founded in 1995 by Icelandic singer Sigurõar Demetz and features some of the top young Icelandic vocal students.

Norbert Leo Butz has just announced he'll be returning to Feinstein's/54 Below in NYC to perform his "Memory & Mayhem" show. Michael J Moritz Jr will music direct this show which sees the Broadway and TV star exploring his passion for southern rock. 

Michael J Moritz Jr will return this year to partner with No Bully, a group that focuses on teaching empathy to students and stopping bullying, for "Broadway Against Bullying."

Beautiful: The Carole King Musical will open its newest production in Sydney, Australia on September 23rd. Michael J Moritz Jr will once again serve as producer for this show as it enters it spreads to its third continent! The show will take place at the Sydney Lyric Theatre and will star Esther Hannaford as Carole King.

Grammy winning producer, Michael J Moritz Jr, and Beautiful: The Carole King Musical original cast member, Kevin Duda, will be producing the cast album for Off-Broadway show Mad Libs Live!

Broadway Records has released a new installment in the "Feinstein's/54 Below" series. This new album features a Broadway couple that has starred alongside each other on more than one occasion. Michael J Moritz Jr has produced and mixed Legally Bound, a record that includes a mix of Broadway, Motown, and soul tunes from the talented couple. 

Tony nominee and star of the musical Bright Star, Carmen Cusack, will team up with her co-star Jeff Blumenkrantz for a cabaret show at the Axelrod Performing Arts Center in Deal, New Jersey. Michael J Moritz Jr will music direct the night including Broadway songs and other compositions.

In early 2017, a group of bright stars in the Broadway community - including Charlie Rosen, Van Dean, Jonathan Estabrooks, and Michael J Moritz Jr - gathered the who's who of Broadway to record a benefit single for the recently under-fire National Endowment of the Arts.

Michael J Moritz Jr will be the Musical Director for tonight's show at Feinstein's/54 Below featuring Coco Dolenz, sister to "The Monkees" Mickey Dolenz.

Michael J Moritz Jr served as liaison between The No Bully Organization and the Broadway community as they brought together the first ever Broadway Against Bullying concert at 54 Below. In addition, Michael was the music director and pianist.

The Shapiro Sisters return with their follow up album on Broadway Records. Time Reveals is an EP that sees Abigail and Milly Shapiro singing more mature songs from such shows as Spring Awakening, Side Show, and No Doubt. The album has been produced and mixed by Michael J Moritz Jr.

Today marks the release of the Original Off-Broadway Cast Recording of A Dog Story. Michael J Moritz Jr is a producer of this new recording which will has been released on the Broadway Records label. 

Over 60 Broadway kids came together to lend their voices to "I Have A Voice" written by Frank Wildhorn and Robin Lerner. All of the proceeds go to the No Bully Foundation, and hopes to inspire kids to celebrate their differences and decrease intolerance and bullying. Michael J Moritz Jr helped produce the track, as well as arranged, played piano, and conducted the youth choir.

Michael J Moritz Jr was involved with NBC's The Wiz Live! as an executive producer of the album. This production was the third live musical airing on NBC when it premiered on December 3, 2015. The album was made available on December 18, 2015.

The latest installment of the "Live at Feinstein's/54 Below" series features MAC award winner, Tony nominee, and "drag legend" Charles Busch. Michael J Moritz Jr produced and mixed this live set from Busch, who The New York Times praised by saying, “He has the gift of comic gab like few other entertainers. Innately funny, endearing and acutely intelligent, he also has claws. For an audience, the possibility of being scratched, although remote, lends his humor a bracing edge..."

Broadway Records has released Tony Award nominee Carmen Cusack's debut album, If You Knew My Story: Live at Feinstein's/54 Below. The West End and Broadway actress' new album has been produced and mixed by Michael J Moritz Jr and features songs from the show Bright Star, in which Cusack played Alice Murphy on Broadway, as well as others.

Michael J Moritz Jr mixed and produced the brand new 2016 Off-Broadway Cast Recording of You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown. The cast consists of all Broadway kids, including Joshua Colley, Milly Shapiro, Gregory Diaz, Aidan Gemme, Mavis Simpson-Ernst, Jeremy T. Villas and Graydon Peter Yosowitz.

Michael J Moritz Jr served as the liaison between the Broadway community and The No Bully Organization, as well as music director and pianist. No Bully is a non-profit organization that trains schools how to activate student compassion to stop bullying and cyber-bullying.

Michael J Moritz Jr will music direct Noah Stewart's upcoming 2016 UK tour, In Love Again. Stewart, an operatic tenor originally from Harlem, released a 2012 album entitled Noah, which peaked at number one on the UK Classical Album Charts.

Michael J Moritz Jr was involved in the second ever Elsie Fest as the music director and pianist to both Tituss Burgess and Julie James. Elsie Fest is a show tunes-centric outdoor music festival. This Labor Day, tons of attendees experienced performances from their favorite stage and screen stars at the Ford Amphitheater at Coney Island Boardwalk. Performers included Darren Criss, Megan Hilty, Tituss Burgess, Jason Robert Brown, Corey Cott, Todrick Hall, Pasek and Paul, Julie James, Lena Hall, Rebel and a Basketcase, and special guest Cynthia Erivo!

Michael J Moritz Jr serves as Music Supervisor for the newest production of A Night With Janis Joplin that will run from August 18th through September 10th at the Barter Theatre in Abingdon, Virginia. The role of Janis Joplin will be played by the powerful Kelly McIntyre.

Michael will act as Music Supervisor for the upcoming production of A Night With Janis Joplin running at the Alley Theatre in Houston, Texas. The show will run from August 19th through September 18th and stars Kacee Clanton as Janis Joplin.

Produced by Michael J Moritz Jr and Michael Croiter, Broadway’s brightest stars united to support those in Orlando who were affected by the massacre in response to the recent tragic events in Orlando. All of the proceeds of the single, a recording of Burt Bacharach’s “What the World Needs Now Is Love,” will benefit the LGBT Center of Central Florida.

Tyce Green will be returning to Feinstein's/54 Below for a reprise of his January solo concert. Michael J Moritz Jr will serve as Musical Director for Tyce's performances, which will take place on July 15th and 22nd.

The Capital Repertory Theatre starts their run of A Night With Janis Joplin tonight in Albany, NY. Michael J Moritz Jr will be Music Supervisor on this production which runs from July 12th to August 9th. Kelly McIntyre is the star of the show, portraying the role of "Janis Joplin."

Following the tragic event that took place at Pulse nightclub in Orlando on June 12, the Broadway and Orlando theatre communities will unite to perform From Broadway With Love: A Benefit Concert For Orlando – a healing night of music and dance to honor the 49 victims – on Monday, July 25 at 7:30 pm at the Disney Theatre in the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts.

An ensemble of some of Broadway's best singers will gather on tonight's telecast of NBC's "Maya and Marty" to perform "What the World Needs Now" in support of the victims of the Orlando shooting at Pulse nightclub. Michael J Moritz Jr will be playing piano for this special telecast.

After taking part in the Broadway production of A Night With Janis Joplin, Michael J Moritz Jr served as music director/supervisor to the touring cast of the show in 2016. 

Rachel Levy, who recently made her television debut in TLC’s special Broadway At The White House, brings her new show to Feinstein's/54 Below and Michael J Moritz will serve as Musical Director and pianist.

Operatic tenor Noah Stewart returns to Columbus, Georgia's RiverCenter for the Performing Arts to perform a night of cabaret, torch songs, ballads, and show tunes. Michael J Moritz Jr will return as Noah's Musical Director. The two artists previously toured the UK together for Noah's "So in Love" tour in 2015, visiting such cities as London, Manchester, Birmingham, Cardiff, and more.

Michael J Moritz Jr will be the Music Supervisor for the upcoming 2016 National tour of A Night with Janis Joplin. The musical, which was written and directed by Randy Johnson, tells the story of Janis Joplin's meteoric rise to the Queen of Rock n' Roll, and pays tribute to all of the great artists that inspired her.

Michael J Moritz Jr serves as music director and pianist to Micky Dolenz, best known as the lead singer of the hugely successful rock ‘n’ roll band The Monkees, which originated from the classic sixties TV show of the same name. A Little Bit Broadway, A Little Bit Rock & Roll is a brand new show created to combine his love of Broadway with his love for rock ‘n’ roll in one cabaret concert.

Bring the Future Faster: Live at 54 Below by British vocalist Danielle Hope has been released on Broadway Records. Michael J Moritz Jr serves as producer and mixer of this album which features songs from shows the singer has starred in as well as other West End favorites.

Michael J Moritz Jr produced and mixed the new Off-Broadway cast recording of Liberty: A Monumental New Musical. The album released on May 5, 2015, and features a cast including Abigail Shapiro, Emma Rosenthal, Ben McHugh, Cheryl Stern, Tom Souhrada, Ryan Duncan, C. Mingo Long, and Andrew DiTusa. With book and lyrics by Dana Leslie Goldstein with music by Jon Goldstein, the show tells the story of a determined, young French immigrant who arrives alone in New York Harbor in 1884.

Michael J Moritz Jr mixed and produced the new Live from Feinstein's/54 Below album entitled Side Show: Added Attractions. The critically acclaimed cast of the Broadway musical revival SIDE SHOW re-united to perform never-before-heard material such as cut songs and extended versions of familiar tunes from the show. The album was released on May 19, 2015 on Broadway Records.

Michael J Moritz Jr will be touring with one of opera's brightest young stars, Noah Stewart, as his pianist and musical director during Stewart's 2016 UK Tour!

Michael J Moritz Jr served as Music Director and pianist for the Stephen Sondheim Birthday Concert on March 24, 2015 at 42West. The concert featured an all-star lineup including Billy Magnussen, MacKenzie Mauzy, Lilla Crawford, Rufus Wainwright, Michael McElroy, Broadway Inspirational Voices, Norm Lewis, Lance Horne, Christopher Sieber, Chip Zien, Constantine Maroulis, and Tituss Burgess.

On March 17, 2015, the new Broadway Cast Recording of On the Town was released through PS Classics. Michael J Moritz Jr is a producer of the 2014 Broadway revival of the classic musical at The Lyric Theatre.

On February 25, 2015, Beautiful: The Carole King Musical opened up at the Aldwych Theatre in London's West End. Michael J Moritz Jr serves as a producer of the show. Michael Billington of The Guardian says, "Katie Brayben... makes the big leap into playing Carole King with admirable skill: she conveys her essential normality, love for music and longing for domestic harmony."

On December 4, 2014, NBC aired the live television event of "Peter Pan Live!" The musical starred Allison Williams and Christopher Walken as Peter Pan and Captain Hook, respectively. Michael J Moritz Jr was a producer on the live album, released on Broadway Records on December 16, 2014.

The Angel Band Project is an advocacy organization that supports victims of sexual assault. The organization provides music therapy for survivors and for awareness education. Michael J Moritz Jr is not only on the board of directors, but he also helped put together the live concert in St. Louis, "The Angel Band Project: An Evening with Norbert Leo Butz". He mixed and produced the live album of that show, which was released on October 19, 2014.

The revival of the hit musical On The Town opened at Broadway's Lyric Theatre on October 16, 2014. Michael J Moritz Jr is a producer of this new show which features a talented cast including Tony Yazbeck, Alysha Umphress, Jay Armstrong Johnson, Megan Fairchild, Jackie Hoffman, and Elizabeth Stanley.

Michael J Moritz Jr served as music director and pianist for the new Shapiro Sisters show at 54 Below, Live Out Loud! Michael also produced and mixed the album which was released by Broadway Records on September 9, 2014.

Esteemed composer and lyricist team, Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty celebrated their 30th anniversary with a handful of live shows at 54 Below, which compiled some of their best known songs into a star studded concert series. Michael J Moritz Jr produced and mixed this compilation album of their anniversary celebration, which was released on June 3, 2014 on Broadway Records.

The Original Cast recording of "Beautiful: The Carole King Musical" is now available for purchase! The album which stars Jessie Mueller as Carole King is released on Ghostlight Records.

On April 21, 2014 at the Booth Theatre in NYC, The Velocity of Autumn opened on Broadway. Michael J Moritz Jr is a producer of this show which stars the critically acclaimed actress Estelle Parsons.

Best known for his turn as Frankie Valli in Jersey Boys and Barry Mann in Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, Jarrod Spector brought his solo show to 54 Below. Michael J Moritz Jr produced and mixed Jarrod's new live album A Little Help From My Friends,  which has been released on March 25, 2014 on Broadway Records.

Michael J Moritz Jr returns as Norbert's musical director and the show will be recorded by Broadway Records.

On January 28, 2013, "From Broadway With Love: A Benefit Concert For Sandy Hook" took place. It was a concert of healing for the Newtown community where composers, musicians and more than 100 stars of Broadway came together with over 300 students from several Newtown schools and creative groups to put on this benefit.
